Ad Astra 1

I lit and rendered all elements in this shot except the landscape plate. I also did the FX material lookdev.

Ad Astra 2

Role : Sequence Setup | Shot Lighting \ FX Lookdev

I lit and rendered all elements in this shot except the ground plane plate.

Given all the interacting FX and light sources, noise was a particular problem in this shot. To resolve I was able to build custom denoise configurations which allowed me to render clean volumes much more quickly.

I also had to develop a custom LPE setup to render more complex passes for DMP additions to the shot.

Sonic The Hedgehog 1

Role : Shot Lighting (Full CG)

This shot was particularly difficult because of the interaction between the lightning and so many specular surfaces as well as FX and CFX. It wasn’t effective to fake the lightning emission, so animated geo meshlights had to be used. The shot is full CG and was expensive to render, optimization was critical.

I did all lighting in this shot except the terrain lighting.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2

I set up the sequence and light rigs for this shot. I did all primary lighting except the practical red lights inside the buggy mechanisms.

I set up the sequence and light rigs for these shots and did the shot level lighting work.

Ad Astra 4

I lit and managed the reflections of the character’s visor as well as the background vehicle elements.

Ad Astra 5

I did all lighting for this shot with exception of the cement environment enclosure (although I did the interactives onto this structure).

The backlit volumes were particularly difficult to get to render clean. I used a similar custom denoise configuration which I was able to test with very quick iterations to fine tune the correct denoise approach.

I did the shot lighting for these series of shots. They are full CG.

Aquaman 1

I did all lighting in this shot except the sky. I adapted a sequence light rig to pull more shape out of the characters and FX. I also developed the lookdev for the large splashes and mist.

I did all the lighting in this shot except the sky. I adapted a sequence light rig to direct visual interest.

I designed the sequence materials and passes for this series of shots in order to render the sparks and volumes as well as their reflections.
